It’s one thing for a well-known athlete to show his or her support of the U.S. men’s national team through tweets, Instagram posts or Facebook updates from afar. It’s another thing for the star player to actually go to Brazil to take in all the festivities.
That’s exactly what Andrew Luck is doing this week.
The Indianapolis Colts quarterback is a noted soccer aficionado and doesn’t try to hide his fandom for "the other" football. He’s obviously serious about his love for the sport, given that he’s currently in Brazil for the World Cup.
Photos of Luck with various U.S. fans have found their way onto the Interwebs recently. One Team USA fan ran into the hulking signal-caller at a museum in Sao Paulo, where he gave out autographs and posed for pictures.
Diehard Team USA fans will recall Luck modeling the squad’s away kits in April, back when the NFL’s most famous/infamous neck beard was on display in all its glory.

[Related:It’s unclear if the Pro Bowler will keep gallivanting around the host country since the U.S. has a spot in the knockout stage. The NFL is in its dead period, so seemingly he could if he wanted to. NFL fans, Colts devotees and American Outlaws in Brazil hoping to meet the star certainly hope he’ll continue his vacation.
We like Luck traveling to support his fellow U.S. athletes, but his wardrobe needs to include more patriotism. A red hat and starred blue shirt pocket is not enough.
