Jurgen Klinsmann wrote a note to get U.S. fans out of work for the Germany match

The U.S.'s decisive third group-stage match against Germany falls right in the middle of work hours on Thursday for many fans in the states. So in order to help them get out of pretending to work while feverishly checking for updates or pretending that they've been infected by a rabid Luis Suarez, the team's Twitter account has shared a handy excuse note from manager Jurgen Klinsmann to easily swayed bosses everywhere.

The note reads:

To whom it may concern:

Please excuse ____________ from work Thursday, June 26th.

I understand that this absence may reduce the productivity of your workplace, but I can assure you that it is for an important cause. The #USMNT has a critical World Cup game vs. Germany and we will need the full support of the nation if we are to advance to the next round.

By the way, you should act like a good leader and take the day off, as well. Go USA!

Along with Klinsmann's effort, fans also started a White House petition to "save everybody the trouble" of calling in sick by making the 26th a national holiday. Though that won't happen, it still might end up seeming like it. A record 25 million people in the U.S. watched Sunday's 2-2 draw with Portugal on ESPN and Univison, beating out the NBA Finals and 2013 World Series. And they probably won't let a little thing like work get in the way of watching the Germany match whether Klinsmann's note works or not.
