After a rebooted brand, a rebooted logo and mascot, some rebooted uniforms, what's next for the new-look Charlotte Hornets? How about a rebooted basketball court at Time Warner Cable Arena, complete with that beloved old honeycomb pattern on the hardwood?
There's just a lot to dig here, especially for us '80s babies — the teal on the sidelines, the purple in the paint, the "Buzz City" and "CH Crown" secondary logo accents and, of course, the honeycomb:
As The Starters' Trey Kerby noted, the design takes a familiar touch from the Hornets' former style — the honeycomb pattern in the lane — and offers a fresh take on it, extending it throughout the court and giving it a more contemporary feel, providing something for both nostalgists and modernists alike. Shouts to the Hornets for knocking just about every aspect of this rebrand out of the park thus far. Now all we need is a modernized Air Hugo blimp, and we'll really be cooking with gas.
