Experienced World Cup pitch invader Mario Ferri struck again during the U.S.-Belgium round of 16 match and was able to wander around for an extended period of time before security finally decided to escort him off. The incident occured early in the first half with the Italian wearing his trademark Superman shirt with messages supporting the children of Brazilian favelas and Lazio fan Ciro Esposito, who recently died from a gunshot wound suffered before last month's Coppa Italia final.
Despite Ferri's positive messages, U.S. manager Jurgen Klinsmann was still not amused by his antics.
Ferri also invaded the pitch during the 2010 World Cup semifinal between Spain and Germany as part of his odd campaign to get Antonio Cassano into the Italian national team. Cassano finally played in his first World Cup this time around in Brazil, so it seems Ferri has moved on to other causes.
