When Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson announced he signed a $70 million deal with $48 million guaranteed, which is more than his nemesis Richard Sherman got, you knew the two would end up taking some shots on Twitter.
So Sherman, the great and loquacious Seahawks cornerback, retweeted this ...
And then had this to say:
Very passive aggressive there, Richard. With as many Twitter wars as Sherman gets into, one has to assume we haven't seen the last of that photo with the ring.
Peterson is living it up now, with the contract to boast that he is the best cornerback in football. Even if that's faulty logic, that's a way many players measure these things. And in a great one-liner, Peterson turned Sherman's "U mad bro?' back on the Seattle cornerback.
And drop the mic, exit stage left.
The Cardinals and Seahawks play for the first time this season on Nov. 23. We're already interested to see if there will be any postgame handshake – or punches – between the two great cornerbacks.
