Rob Gronkowski has cleared on big hurdle toward his stated goal to play a full season.
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday that Gronkowski has been cleared to participate in training camp with the tight end only eight months removed from ACL surgery.

Last week, Gronkowski said he planned to play all 16 games in 2014. He was limited to seven games last season because of forearm and back ailments, and his season ended prematurely when he tore his ACL in December against the Cleveland Browns.
It would not be a shock to see the Patriots work in Gronk slowly and perhaps limit his preseason game snaps quite a bit until he shows he's fully ready.
The good news, though, is that Gronk is back.
