In his pre-Alamo Bowl press conference on Wednesday, UCLA coach Jim Mora confirmed what Brett Hundley said after beating USC in November. Hundley will be declaring for the 2015 NFL draft.
"This will be his last game as a UCLA Bruin," Mora said via BruinSportsReport.com. "He will be entering the NFL draft. I don’t know that he’s announced it yet, but we all know that’s the case. I’d like him to go out with a successful game."
Following the win over the Trojans, Hundley told Jim Rome that it was "probably" his last game against the Bruins' cross-town rival.
As a redshirt sophomore last season, Hundley had the option of declaring for the draft or returning to school to attempt to improve his draft stock. He chose the latter and if Oregon's Marcus Mariota declares for the draft, Hundley could be the second quarterback chosen depending on how Florida State's Jameis Winston is graded if he declares.
Hundley hurt a finger on his throwing hand during UCLA's regular-season-ending loss to Stanford on November 29. However, Mora said Wednesday that Hundley was "fine."
