Fan wins $1 million at Patriots game with help of Tom Brady's number

Never bet against Tom Brady at home ... or Tom Brady's number either, apparently.

At halftime of the New England Patriots' game against the Miami Dolphins, a Patriots fan had the opportunity to win $1 million in a Massachusetts State Lottery drawing. Ernest Tomascik had to choose one of 24 different oversized scratch-off lottery tickets. Tomascik went with No. 12, Brady's number, opened the envelope attached to the ticket, and boom: instant millionaire.

What were the odds against Tomascik? To start, he was guaranteed to go home with $100,000, but had two chances in 24 to pick the correct envelope. More than that, his number was randomly selected from more than 965,000 entries in the state lottery's "Second Chance Drawing" contest for $5 Patriots scratch-off tickets that didn't win the first time around.

The Patriots didn't really need his luck, demolishing Miami 41-13, but every little bit helps.
