Brazilian newspaper does Chilean fans a solid and publishes flight times back to Chile

How confident were the Brazilian media that Brazil would defeat Chile in their Saturday round-of-16 match?

Just take a look at the front page of Saturday morning’s edition of Brazil's Meia Hora newspaper.

Hours before the game, the newspaper decided to help out Chilean fans by posting departure times for flights to Chile. The message to the Chilean fan states that on behalf of the paper, they’d like to send them a list of flight times for their return trip back to Chile. The newspaper also wishes Chile and their fans a nice trip and to come again.

A bit overconfident and arrogant on Meia Hora's part? Yes, but they ended up being right.

The newspaper did the Chilean fans a solid, as Chile was defeated 3-2 (1-1 a.e.t.) by Brazil in penalties later on Saturday in Belo Horizonte. Brazil barely got through Chile, and thanks to Neymar and Julio Cesar, a Brazilian day/night of national mourning was just avoided.

Might want to go with that 10:20 a.m. Sky Airline flight, Chilean fans, as Sky is a Chilean-based airline. I’m sure the flight attendants will help comfort all passangers and it’ll make for a better flight home.

Well played, Meia Hora.
