Ball State unveils all-black uniform combination (Video)

It has been a good month for Ball State football.

A few weeks ago, the Cardinals went crazy when they got their first glimpse of the new-and-improved locker room inside Scheumann Stadium and now on Friday the program unveiled a brand new uniform combination.

The all-black look is really sharp. I really like how it contrasts with the red cardinal logo and the red stripe down the side of the pants looks great as well.

The new all-black look was waiting in the locker room for the players Friday morning after they finished summer conditioning drills. The Star Press was on hand to capture the team’s reaction as the guys began to file in. Despite being exhausted from the workout, the players showed some serious excitement.

The Cardinals have worn the black jerseys a few times over the past few years, but now thanks to some donor funds, the black helmet and pants have been added to the team’s collection.

The refurbished locker room and new gear have provided a nice boost for the players.

“I see the program changing, bringing in things that we didn’t have before,” said senior running back Jahwan Edwards. “I always thought it was tradition to have white helmets. I see, winning, we can make things happen. Guys are grateful, ready perform in those new helmets and new pants.”

The Cardinals are entering their fourth season under Pete Lembo and are coming off a 10-win season ad back-to-back bowl game appearances.
