It isn't often that you catch a NFL touchdown pass while sitting on your keister.
Anthony Fasano got that gift on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was knocked over while blocking on a play from the New York Jets' 1-yard line. The odds of him scoring at that moment were something north of astronomical.
Alex Smith threw to the end zone, and a Jets defender batted it out of the air. Fasano looked up and all of a sudden the ball was falling in his lap. Fasano was still at the 1-yard line, so he quickly lunged over the goal line for the score. The play was reviewed for a while – maybe it's because the officials were wondering "What in the heck just happened?" – and it stood.
There won't be many other touchdowns quite like that one this season.
