Kyle Busch is the only driver to win a Camping World Truck Series race, Nationwide race and Sprint Cup Series race in the same weekend. And he did it at Bristol back in 2010.
Busch didn't win Thursday's rain-delayed Truck Series race or Friday night's Nationwide Series race. So on Saturday night he was going for the bad luck triple. And sure enough, he got it.
Thursday he had a flat tire that ruined his chances at a win. Friday night it was a late restart. Saturday it was a crash after Busch went spinning off the bumper of Clint Bowyer.
Aric Almirola got spun ahead of Busch and he slowed down to avoid Almirola and Kyle Larson. Bowyer didn't have time to react and Busch went sliding down to the apron and back up the race track.
Busch was back in the pack after he had gotten a pit road speeding penalty. Had he not gotten the penalty, well, he wouldn't have been in that spot. And instead of climbing back through the field, Busch's day was essentially over.
After getting repairs, and heading back out, Busch was still frustrated. It was late in the race, and when he went to park the car since there were no more positions to be gained, he parked the car in a different spot than where crew chief Dave Rogers wanted it.
Dave Rogers is screaming at Kyle Busch. He just parked his car on pit road and walked away. Rogers is furious.

Rogers told Kyle Busch to drive it back to the hauler, but Busch disobeyed.

Following the race, both owner Joe Gibbs and Rogers chalked it up to frustration.
Joe Gibbs says @KyleBusch had "great car. It was a series of circumstances. Something like that happens ... you can get frustrated." #NASCAR

More Gibbs on @KyleBusch : They had three weeks ... were 2nd, 2nd, 2nd. I think the night was totally frustrating." #NASCAR @BMSupdates

Rogers says both he and Kyle were quite frustrated with the night, poor communication. They talked it out.

Because of the poor night, Busch is now 17th in the points standings. While it's easy to dismiss a Jimmie Johnson summer swoon because he's Jimmie Johnson and he's won six Chase championships, it's not as easy to do for Kyle Busch. Busch has never won a race in the Chase as a member of the Chase.
He's going to be in it because of his win at California. But if he's going to be a factor, the finishes are going to need to turn around and the frustration is going to need to be channeled positively.
