Ice Bucket Challenge floods NFL, but we're waiting for Belichick, Kraft, Woody

By now, you likely have seen plenty of examples of people around the country showing their support for ALS, or Lou Gherig's Disease, by taking the Ice Bucket Challenge. It's a fun exercise that has helped raise money and awareness for a terrible and crippling disease.

Several NFL folks are doing their part. New York Giants owner John Mara took the challenge by taking a Gatorade bucket full of ice water over the head, dumped on him by Giants receiver Victor Cruz, who was the one who issued the challenge to Mara in the first place.

"Feels good!" Mara said at the end.

But before that, Mara passed on the challenge to a few of of his high-powered friends and rivals in the league — namely New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

No word yet from Woody on whether he'll take part. But Belichick, on his weekly appearance on WEEI radio in Boston (via ESPN Boston), said he plans to take part in some way.

“I plan on doing something with it," Belichick said. "We’ll take care of it.”

It has been a while since Belichick had ice water dumped on him — 2005 to be exact, the last time the Patriots won a Super Bowl. It looked like this.

Bruschi isn't around the team anymore, but Belichick shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone else to help him complete the challenge.

“I know there’s a lot of people who would like to dump ice water on me,” Belichick deadpanned.

While we wait for these men to complete their videos, check out Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers doing his part.

Some have said that the challenge only has done so much, but donations reportedly are up 1,000 percent since it began. Let's hope that the NFL and more of its well-paid employees continue to do their important part in this great cause.
