One of Anderson Silva's managers, Ed Soares, recently appeared on Submission Radio and explained why his client's UFC super fight against Nick Diaz makes sense. "I just think it's a fight that makes sense," he said.
"They are two of the best boxers in MMA both want to fight Roy Jones Jr. both are coming off of two losses, both have been out of the ring for over a year so it's just a fight, you know, that makes sense."
Both Diaz and Silva have mastered different styles of psychological intimidation, over the years, but Soares said he doesn't expect the Stockton bad boy to do his usual pre-fight trash talk against the Brazilian.
"I think he's prepared to deal with that, but I honestly believe that Nick Diaz is going to take a different approach. I don't think Nick Diaz has anything personal against Anderson Silva," he said.
"I think Nick Diaz looks at Anderson Silva as a true, real, martial art challenge and he believes he's got what it takes to be able to fight him...Most of the time Nick Diaz doesn't start off with the trash talking. It's normally somebody else that starts off with the trash talking and he kinda finishes it off. But Nick Diaz overall, I don't see him much as a guy that starts off talking trash."
Well, the last part of that statement obviously not being true, how do you feel about the first part? Do you think Diaz will continue to talk trash about Anderson, or calm his usual head games down a bit before fighting "The Spider?"
