This is just cruel. EA Sports, after picking the correct score of this year's Super Bowl, decided to go back and twist the knife just a little bit more to ask the question: what if Marshawn Lynch had run the ball from the goal line?
The answer, of course, is that the Seahawks would have scored and won the Super Bowl. There's some quibbling here; the play was on second down, not first, and Jim Nantz and Phil Simms weren't the announcers. But the sight of jubilant Seahawks and despondent Patriots has to break the heart of any Seattle fan. At least they can take some solace in the hope that somewhere, in some alternate universe, their team is a two-time champion.
But if Madden is too sophisticated for you, perhaps you'd prefer the Tecmo Bowl version:
