Urban Meyer and thousands of Ohio State fans finally arrived back on dry land Tuesday night.
Meyer and his family were aboard Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas cruise ship for OSU’s Cruise for Cancer, which raises money for Ohio State’s James Cancer Hospital and the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research. It was scheduled to dock in Tampa, Fla., on Monday but foggy conditions out on the Gulf of Mexico caused a lengthy delay.
While an extra day and a half on a cruise doesn’t sound like the worst thing in the world, Meyer told the Columbus Dispatch that they were “ready to get home.”
Once everyone arrived back on dry land safely, Royal Caribbean had some fun with the situation.
To get an idea of how thick the fog was, former Buckeyes defensive back Dustin Fox shared a few photos on Instagram.
Despite the bit of uncertainty the fog brought, the Cruise for Cancer raised over $2 million. I’d bet Meyer would say it was worth it.
