Texas picked up the biggest win of its season Saturday afternoon in a 33-16 upset over No. 23 West Virginia.
Things haven’t always been pretty in the first year under Charlie Strong, but the Longhorns are steadily improving and are just one win away from bowl eligibility. Using a downhill running game and a swarming defense, Saturday’s performance was the best in Strong’s short tenure, and his players showed appreciation for their coach after the game.
A video posted by UT graduate assistant Ephraim Banda shows Strong being lifted up in the air in celebration in the team locker room.
The Longhorns have won three of their last four games after starting 2-4. Now 5-5, Strong’s team will round out its schedule with a road contest at Oklahoma State before hosting TCU on Thanksgiving.
