Eminem raps on Ray Rice punching wife

So here's a little more promotion the NFL probably could do without. Eminem has released a new video in which he raps about punching singer Lana Del Rey not unlike a certain recent NFL scandal. Here are the lyrics, with the requisite trigger warning for domestic violence content:

"I'll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance / ’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens."

Strangely, as LAist notes, Del Rey has actually spoken positively of Eminem in the past, saying “It changed my life. I found out music could be intelligent. He wasn’t just rhyming for rhyme’s sake.” Well, maybe yes, maybe no. Lyrical content aside, rhyming "Rice" isn't exactly difficult. Try "Biakubutuka" or "Lotulelei."

Eminem's thrown a few NFL references out in his songs before, most notably Seahawks QB Russell Wilson in "Monster" ("It’s payback, Russell Wilson falling way back in the draft/ Turn nothing into something..."). "Lose Yourself" is a staple motivational tune in the closing minutes of tight games. It's a safe bet this one won't be playing at any Baltimore games anytime soon.
