Derrick Rose returns with plenty of flair as Bulls beat Pistons (Video)

Derrick Rose's comeback from two season-ending knee surgeries has been an uneven one so far in the 2014-15 season. The Chicago Bulls star missed four of his team's first seven games with two different ankle sprains. The good news is that Rose has been impressive, to the extent that the Bulls can consider him their first option whenever he's available.

Rose returned to the court after a two-game layoff (part of a stretch in which he missed four of five contests) on Monday night against the visiting Detroit Pistons. He wasted little time in showing that he was in playing shape. This transition crossover on Josh Smith and pass to Pau Gasol was filthy:

He struck again minutes later with a double-clutch pass to get out of a jam and find Joakim Noah near the basket for the finish:

Rose wasn't only a facilitator in the Bulls' 102-91 win. He scored a season-high 24 points (9-of-20 FG) with seven assists in 32 minutes, also the most playing time he's seen. The greatest sign for the Bulls' long-term success is that Rose appears to have lost none or very little of his athleticism. Hopefully he won't see the sidelines again for quite some time.
