Dead rat in Raiders' press box is pretty much the most Oakland thing ever

That's not a metaphor. It's not a new nickname. It's not the name of a new Raiders offensive scheme, appropriate though that would be. No, according to local media, there was an actual dead rat in the press box when they arrived to cover Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

The sad fact is that if you were to pick any stadium, any team, which would feature a dead rat as part of the decor, you'd pick the Raiders and there wouldn't even be a close second. That says something, and it's not good. Here are a couple of the initial reports:

The Raiders were 0-8 coming into this game. If they are somehow able to defeat the mighty Broncos, expect that rat to be bronzed and held up as an inspirational totem for the rest of the season. We'd say that the Raiders faithful would start wearing dead rats as part of their demon-motorcycle-hellrider gear, but we think that bridge was crossed a long time ago.

This isn't the first time that O.Co Coliseum has had trouble with sanitation issues. Last year, the Oakland A's coaches had to deal with water and sewage backing up into rooms beneath the stadium. Water flowed all the way into the dugouts:

Compared to that, NFL media, a single dead rat doesn't seem so bad. So quit your complaining.
