Young Man United fan bawls over having to wear a blue school uniform, club tries to make her feel better

Three-year-old Manchester United fan Lilly Rae Doyle was trying on her new school uniform and she was not happy about it. The problem wasn't that it was uncomfortable or meant that she would soon have to endure the hardships of finger painting and sing-alongs, it was that the cardigan is blue. A different shade of blue than what Man United's local rivals Man City wear, but still blue nonetheless.

Though most older Man United fans have a hard time seeing City as anything other than their "noisy neighbors," in Lilly's lifetime they have only been a powerful force — winning more trophies than Man United, including the most recent Premier league title. So for Lilly, being asked to wear blue is the worst thing imaginable.

"I don't like blue!" she wailed, pulling at the offending garment as her mother filmed her. The mother tried to reason with her, asking her to be a "brave girl" and wear the uniform, but Lilly simply wasn't having any of it.

Since being published by the Manchester Evening News, the video has brought Lilly a lot of support, even from Man United's official Twitter account. The club reminded her that their third kit this season is actually blue and invited her to a game in the hopes of making her uniform situation more tolerable.

Hopefully Lilly will soon realize that it's not the color of the shirt that matters, it's whether or not you have Angel Di Maria on your side.
