Does your homefield advantage increase if the visiting team can hear your fans but can't see them?
Louisiana-Monroe is asking all its fans to wear camo to the Warhawks' game against Wake Forest on Thursday, Aug. 28. The game even has a slogan: "The hunt is on."
Encouraging fans to dress in a solitary school color is an ever-increasing trend in sports, but asking everyone to wear camouflage to a game? This is certainly a first. And it makes for one heck of an awkward promotional video.
ULM is the most appropriate school to try the promotion. After all, Duck Dynasty is filmed in Monroe where Duck Commander is based and members of the Robertson family have attended ULM games in the past. It's not like this is Stanford trying this promotion. Though it would be fun to see a whole stadium of camo in Palo Alto, Calif., don't you think?
Two years ago, Arkansas State had a hunting-themed giveaway at one of its home games. The Red Wolves gave away a deer stand at a November home game that coincided with the start of hunting season. The winner of the stand even got to watch the game in it.
