INDIANAPOLIS — Nigel Hayes has become one of the breakout stars of this NCAA tournament, not only for his play but also for his entertaining press conference hi-jinks.
Now on the big stage of the Final Four, the Wisconsin forward was at it again on Friday morning. He called for the microphone during Frank Kaminsky's presser for winning the USBWA's Oscar Robertson Player of the Year award and identified himself as the "Badger Beats Writer, Intersquad Relations."
Here's the video of his question:
The Badgers, who attended their teammate's press conference en masse, weren't done there. Forward Sam Dekker went next, asking Kaminsky who his favorite teammate was (answer: "everyone").
An actual Wisconsin beat writer then asked a question, drawing boos from the team.
Hayes has made plenty of headlines the past few weeks for testing the knowledge of the NCAA stenographer and for making a funny slipup in front of a live mike. We'll see what else he has in store for the media corps during this weekend in Indy.
