Al Blades Jr. is only 15 years old, but the class of 2018 cornerback is already verbally committed to play for Miami, where his late father, Al, and uncles, Bennie and Brian, played.
Despite his verbal commitment to play for the Hurricanes, other schools are still recruiting him, including Florida State. Blades took a trip to Tallahassee over the weekend and showed his pledge to the Hurricanes is still strong by throwing up the “U” on the Seminoles’ logo.
That’s a bold move by the youngster that’ll surely make Hurricanes fans feel good.
Miami hasn’t had a whole lot to feel good about in this storied rivalry as the Seminoles have won the last five matchups, including a 30-26 nailbiter in November.
The Seminoles and Hurricanes will square off next year on Oct. 10 at Doak Campbell Stadium.
