Arkansas seems to really want Caleb Roddy, a defensive end from Denham Springs, La.
Roddy is a Rivals three-star recruit in the class of 2016 who has offers from programs across the country, but the Razorbacks and coach Bret Bielema are going the extra mile. Arkansas’ coaches want Roddy to commit so badly that they sent 15 recruiting letters to his girlfriend on Monday.
That’s a pretty clever way for the Arkansas coaches to convey their interest in Roddy. The 6-foot-5, 248-pound recruit took a visit to Fayetteville last week and seemed to be impressed. Maybe reaching out to his girlfriend will put them over the top.
In addition to Arkansas, three other SEC programs – Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee – have offered Roddy a scholarship, according to Rivals. Additionally, Roddy has offers from Arizona State, Illinois, North Carolina and San Diego State, among others.
Among strongside defensive ends in the 2016 class, Rivals ranks Roddy as the 21st-best overall. Additionally, Roddy is rated as the 19th-best 2016 prospect in Louisiana.
