Spain lose qualifying match for the first time in eight years, Slovakians rejoice

Slovakia proved that Spain's issues at the World Cup are still ongoing by beating the former top-rated nation 2-1 in their Euro 2016 qualifying match. This marked Spain's first loss in a qualifier of any kind (World Cup/Euros) in eight years.

The match started off terribly for Iker Casillas, who let in the first goal in the 17th minute when a Juraj Kucka free kick hit him right in the hands and went in.

Spain finally equalized in the 82nd minute with a goal from substitute Paco Alcacer, but Slovakia completed the shock upset five minutes later when Miroslav Stoch scored the winner.

The loss can't be blamed entirely on Casillas, but this might be yet another indication that it's time for David De Gea to replace him in goal. Meanwhile, Diego Costa's unstoppable form at the club level still hasn't translated to the international stage.

Spain are now in second place in Group C behind undefeated Slovakia after two matches.
