Sergio Garcia's errant drive knocks out the diamond in a spectator's engagement ring

The week in golf got even stranger on Sunday at the Bridgestone Invitational when Sergio Garcia's errant tee shot on the third hole at Firestone struck a fan's finger and knocked the diamond out of her engagement ring.

Garcia arrived on the spot after his ball sailed wayward to find a female fan in the gallery standing without a very important piece of jewelry on her hand. Apparently the drive hit her in the finger, knocking the diamond out of her ring into the deep, gnarly Firestone rough.

Maybe crazier was that they couldn't find the diamond for a few minutes, with Garcia asking someone inside the ropes to get the contact info from the fan in case they couldn't find the diamond.

Lucky for Garcia, and the fan, is that a few minutes later the diamond was recovered by another patron in the gallery and all was right in the world of golf once more.
