Imagine how you would feel if something you loved to do was taken away from you. And then imagine those emotions running through a room full of college football players. That's what it was like to be in the room on Tuesday when UAB football players were informed about the lack of a future of the Blazer football program.
Above is a video from when UAB president Ray Watts spoke to the players about the decision to shut down UAB's football program. UAB officially announced Tuesday that football, bowling and rifle would be dropped after this school year.
The pride the players have in their program is evident, and boy, is it tough to watch their emotions describing the team. While UAB said that player scholarships and coach contracts would be honored despite the shutdown, it's a no-brainder to say the members of the football team would like to continue playing.
