Rams quarterback woes get worse, as Shaun Hill replaced

Officially, Shaun Hill left Sunday's game against the Vikings with a thigh injury.

But, it's also a possibility the Rams didn't exactly beg Hill to try to play through it after a terrible first half.

Hill was replaced in the second half by Austin Davis. The reason for the change was the injury, but Hill stood on the sideline with his helmet on. Hill, who was replacing Sam Bradford after he tore his ACL this preseason, didn't do much before he got hurt. He was 8-of-13 for 81 yards in the first half, as the Rams were down 13-0 at halftime. And that first half showed how the quarterback situation might ruin the Rams' once promising season.

Hill couldn't sustain drives against a Vikings team that hasn't had a good secondary in some time, in a game at home. It's doubtful that Davis, who had never thrown an NFL regular-season pass before Sunday, will be the savior. The same can probably be said for recently acquired Case Keenum, who was the third quarterback on Sunday.

The Rams have a really good and deep roster, and a really bad quarterback situation after Bradford was ruled out for the season. That's not a promising prognosis in just Week 1, but the Rams need to figure out something because that's their situation for the next 15 weeks.
