The Indianapolis Colts were humbled defensively against the Denver Broncos in the first half Sunday night.
Now they have some more sobering news to digest.

According to Pro Football Talk, Colts outside linebacker Robert Mathis suffered a torn Achilles last week in Atlanta while working out on his own last week.
What a big blow. The Colts' pass rush was inconsistent, and they clearly hoped that Mathis would return from his four-game suspension for testing positive for a banned subtance to give the defense a boost.
Mathis, 33, had 19.5 sacks last season and was exceptional despite not having pass-rushing bookend Dwight Freeney to help out. The Colts now will have to count on Bjoern Werner, Erik Walden and others to provide that rush and pick up the slack.
