Panthers kicker must battle band for practice (video)

Panthers kicker Graham Gano felt like he needed some extra reps on the field during halftime of Sunday's Carolina-Tampa Bay game. Problem is, the field was already the turf of the Bethune-Cookman University marching band.

One trombone player in particular got a little close to Gano, who took matters into his own hands and gave a short jab before continuing his kicks. How those kicks didn't take off a band member's head is a tribute to either precision or perspective, one of the two.

Also, Gano wants you to know he's no thug:

Between this, Stanford-Cal, and generations of jock-on-band-member crime, we've got to be getting to the point where the band fights back. Heads up, NFL players. Brass section comin' atcha.
