A.J. Green upstages Steve Smith's big play, giving Bengals the win

The Steve Smith story wrote itself. Cut by Carolina, considered washed up at 35, Baltimore signed him and on opening day he scored a magnificent 80-yard touchdown to perhaps lead the Ravens to a comeback win.

Ahhhh, not so fast, A.J. Green said.

Right after Smith's great touchdown tied the game in the fourth quarter and had the Bengals on their heels, Green had a juggling catch and spun around Ravens safety Darian Stewart like a top to score a 77-yard touchdown that was the difference in Cincinnati's 23-16 win.

Drop the mic, A.J.

Smith made his big play to give the stagnant Ravens offense a huge boost. He took off downfield and left Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones behind, and quarterback Joe Flacco found him. When Jones caught up, Smith looked back and gave him a devastating stiff-arm that was a callback to his best plays with the Panthers. That tied the game.

Smith used to be one of the best receivers in football, and Green is one of the top handful of receivers in the game today. He showed it getting open for quarterback Andy Dalton, then had great concentration when he bobbled the pass but ended up hauling it in and then put a couple great moves on Stewart to get in the end zone.

The Ravens were considered a contender in the AFC North, although their offense didn't really look up to that on Sunday. The Bengals are the defending champs in that division and look like they want to hold onto that crown, especially if Green has anything to say about it.
